The theme focuses on Malaysia's identity, patriotism, and unity as Malaysians.

Applicants are encouraged to creatively express the spirit of unity, patriotism, and national pride through their animation or motion comic projects. The content should highlight the unique cultural heritage, traditions, and stories that make Malaysia a vibrant and diverse nation. The use of captivating animation and compelling storytelling will be key in effectively conveying the theme.

Program Details

Stage 1:

Proposal Submission

Applicants must submit their proposals for animation or motion comic category
from 13 Sep โ€“ 13 Nov 2024 (11.59pm)

Stage 2:

Project Completion and Deliverables

Applicants who have successfully passed Stage 1 will proceed to Stage 2, where they are required to submit the Completed Video
from 19 Dec 2024 -  17 Apr 2025.

Participants Eligibility Criteria

(a) Company

- Incorporated in Malaysia under Companies Act 1965 or the Companies Act 2016;

- Active and minimum of fifty-one percent (51%) equity held by Malaysian(s).

OR

(b) Enterprise/ Sole Proprietorship/ Partnership

- Registered in Malaysia under Registration of Business Act 1956 or The Trades Licensing Ordinance 1948 (Sabah) or The Businesses, Professions and Trading Licensing Ordinance (Sarawak);

- Active and a minimum of fifty-one percent (51%) ownership belongs to Malaysian(s).

OR

(c) Limited Liability Partnership

- Registered in Malaysia under Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012;

- Active and a minimum of fifty-one percent (51%) ownership belongs to Malaysian(s).

Evidence showcasing track record, portfolio, and experience in the field of animation or motion comics.

Not a broadcaster, television networks, OTT platforms or media company.

What should my proposal include?

  • Your business or company profile (MYDATA-SSM)

  • Your company portfolio showcasing your experience in animation or motion comics

  • A project proposal with details like storyline, character list, mood board, motion board, a 5-minute pitching video, and a label file.

Can I submit multiple entries for different categories?

Applicants can submit multiple entries in different categories, but can only receive one award among all categories.

How will the entries be judged?

Judges will consider factors like:

a) Message & Impact (20%) - Clarity and Effectiveness

b) Storytelling & Animation (20%) - Creativity and Engagement

c) Originality of Theme (20%) - Uniqueness and Relevance

d) Educational Value (20%) - Accuracy of Information and Sparking of Curiosity

e) Technical Execution (20%) - Animation Quality and Overall Production Value

Stage 2: Project Completion and Deliverables

What are the requirements for Stage 2?

If you are selected to move on to Stage 2, you will be given further instructions on how to complete and upload your final video project.

What are the video requirements?

The requirements will vary depending on the category (short animation or motion comic) you choose. They include video duration, format, resolution, language, and end credits.

What kind of content can I submit?

The content must be new, original, and not published before. It should avoid sensitive topics and be appropriate for all audiences.

Can I use existing characters?

Yes, you can use your existing or established characters in your project.

Rights and Permissions

What rights do the organizers have to my work?

By submitting your entry, you grant the organizers the right to use your animation or motion comic for promotional purposes.

Do I retain ownership of my work?

Yes, you retain ownership of your work. However, you grant the organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it as described above.
